I am so glad you joined us.
My name is Andrew and with my twin brother, Kelly, I own two catering companies (Circe and High Cotton), a mail order food business (Granny Lucy's), and consult with Hotel Charlotte Restaurant, all headquartered in Charlotte, NC. Circe serves all over South Carolina, High Cotton serves all over North Carolina and Granny Lucy's ships all over the country. I started the first catering company, High Cotton, ten years ago this November, 14.
When I started High Cotton, I had never thought of cooking for a career and didn't even cook for myself at home. I was trained to restore historic gardens and was enjoying that career when life happened and I found myself starting a business with little money, no experience, nothing really but some fear, some determination and a strong gut feeling that it was the right thing to do. Nine years and four companies later, I can tell you that it was.
In addition to the companies I am a frequent guest on the Pam Stone radio show, President of the board of a local Historic Site (Rosedale Plantation), and as I mentioned, an identical twin.
My companies specialize in Southern Foods, though we have done events with Indian, Mexican, Greek and Middle Eastern menus. I cook everyday, sometimes for as many as a thousand guests! So, tips to save time are HUGE in my life. I will share mine with you if you share yours with me.
